Mask Standards, Ratings, and Filtration Effectiveness

While buying a Mask, the various Standards can be confusing to the buyer. We have N95 Masks, N99, KN95, FFP1, FFP2, 3 Ply Masks etc. What are the differences between these masks.

There are 3 types of commonly used, disposable masks. They are single-use face masks, surgical masks, and respirators.

A surgical mask is a medical device regulated by the FDA. A procedural mask is a standard issue mask not generally rated for healthcare applications, but instead, routinely used to reduce transmission and intake of airborne contamination.
